As the Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for the overall integrity of the financial book, financial systems, all general ledger transaction processing and all exte
al financial relationships.
This role will report directly to the Finance Manager in Australia and you will be required to provide support for month end duties, legal entity reporting to cost centre managers, reconciliations and fixed assets. This includes preparation of month end jou
als, accruals, identifying transaction in difficulty, month end reconciliations and sub ledger support.
The role requires proactive interaction with operational support groups based in India and as such proven communication skills are essential. As the department is committed to adding value to the business, this role will include an expectation of innovation and process improvements within the area of general ledger support. This will include inte
al process developments, as well as being a key contact point for the operational groups in India.
* Ensure jou
als are coded and allocated properly to the correct business unit, cost centre, GL account and other various General Ledger fields.
* Liaising with inte
al business units such as payroll and travel and the processing centre in India to ensure relevant jou
als are processed accurately and on time.
* Month end reconciliation/coordination of all general ledger accounts owned by the NZ market and providing sub ledger supports.
* Identification and reporting of transactions in difficulty on a monthly basis and ensuring ledger integrity through the month close
* Support the month end trend analysis process and attend conference calls with the operational support groups at month end.
* Process gap identification and improvement as well as overseeing the monthly billing process
* Any other duties as required by the financial accounting manager

## Qualifications
* Substantial experience in a similar capacity with part qualifications in ICANZ
* Previous exposure to integrated financial systems.
* Ability work through varying and complex transactions efficiently, and prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines.
* Strong spread sheeting skills (MS Excel)
* Be a strong team player and demonstrate a high level of commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
* High level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage relationships with diverse backgrounds both nationally and inte
ationally.
* Ability to work with minimum supervision.
